I am a nurse educator from the Philippines. I went to Korea and now I am here in Middle East to share what I have as a nurse, a teacher, a learner and as a simple person. I don't consider myself perfect but I aim for perfection - obsessive compulsion (self-diagnosed, not true, actually) but still grounded in realistic expectations (so I am not psychopathologic - excuse). Then, therefore, I, maybe, unlocked the concept of being happy all the time, personally and professionally.
Speaking of professional journey, my dissertation in nursing inquired the meaning of "rapport" (my cup of tea - I don't actually drink tea so correction: cup of choco... Smiles) and it was described as a phenomenon of syncing with others, sensing each other and affirming every member of a personal/professional relationship. In the absence of one element mentioned, therapeutic relationships, in any setting, will never be present (sorry, for the absoluteness - the theory created needs further testing). I have developed a proposed theory to operationalize "therapeutic rapport". For further inquiries about the said theory, please check in the archive. With this in mind, I have formally started my journey of looking for ways how to make every moment a positive experience for everyone.
I am only but human. I have experienced negative (and even worst) things in my life, and just like everyone else, I cried, lost my temper, laughed hard, did silly stuff and others. All through these moments, I maintained (and should forever maintain) the positive energy that invigorates me - to live and continue living for others (breadwinner moment) specifically for our patients. Despite the fact the we are experiencing personal and professional challenges, we must continue having that smile for those we care much - from family members, patients, fellow and even strangers (Whew, that is a lot of saintly sacrifice!) even if the pain consumes our body inside - as one of mentors said "You chose nursing; then enjoy and suffer the fruits of overflowing and natural kindness from your heart as a nurse."
I am doing this blog because I want to share that energy and sense of warmth brought by being positive in our personal and professional life. Pardon the glitches, as the blog is still under construction. We will make it better (don't you and me worry - I am Groot statement). As I repeatedly emphasized, I am just like you confronted with bad experiences and still struggling to pass through some unfortunate events. So, I would like to invite everyone to join me in this experience where all the positive things, amidst negativity are explored, shared and inquired. Again, let us maintain that spirit of making this world a more caring place to live in - a spirit we always carry as a nurse. This is just the beginning of sharing our NURSE - nursing, understanding, reflections, stories and strategies and enlightenment. Please be with me and be happy.
Happy Nursing! Nursing Happy!
